Improving Quality of Life Through Effective Intervention
Emily W. Harris

Emily knew when observing her first Applied Behavior Analysis session that she had found her career. She was impressed by the way Behavior Therapists taught children new skills in a fun and positive manner with parents, caretakers and teachers. After her first year as a Behavior Therapist Emily quickly completed her Master’s Degree and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. As a result, Emily has been providing ABA services for over ten years in the areas of early intervention and school age services in home, school and community settings.

Emily measures success in her work by the ability to increase her clients’ skills toward independence and decrease challenges through creative individualized teaching with input from her clients’ family, educators, and community.Emily’s favorite part of an ABA session is when a client smiles or laughs during instruction. She is eager to make learning fun for clients by discovering what a client enjoys and incorporating that into learning opportunities. Emily describes herself as approachable, curious, calm and highly dedicated to her work.Emily appreciates that she learns something new each day in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis and plans to continue expanding her clinical skills throughout her career.
